President's Shoot

Our annual President's Shoot is taking place June 12 - 17. This year the shoot consists of 50 rounds each of trap, skeet, 5-stand, and sporting clays. Shoot in any or all events. The scoring this year will be no handicap, Lewis class, with a $5 Lewis entry fee per event. The first trap round will be shot at 18 yards (or further); the second round will be shot at the yardage of the score from the first round. League rounds can count for the first round of trap and skeet, and for your 5-stand and sporting clays round; just be sure to tell us when you buy your round if you want it to count for both league and the President's Shoot. Shoot-offs will be held June 17.

Shooting Discounts

Our new Claymate target counting system is up and running. We had our challenges during implementation, and I thank you for your patience as we worked the bugs out.

Remember that  you can buy shooting cards either by the league round, or individually for practice shooting. The sporting clays counters have a "delay" option that allows you to practice alone. Insert the card, push the "delay" button, and push the button; after a 3 second delay, marked by 3 beeps, the target(s) is (are) launched. You can set the counter to throw single targets, true pairs, or following pairs of the same or both targets in either order. This is a great way to groove your shooting stroke; try it out, I think you'll like it!

In addition, The Board of Directors has approved a volume discount program, as follow:

Buy $150 - $499 on a shooting card, and we will add $5 extra to your shooting card;

Buy $500 - $999, and we will add $20 extra to your shooting card;

Buy $1,000+, and we will add $60 extra to your shooting card.

Shooting Supplies

Did you know we carry a large inventory of shooting supplies and merchandise? Click here to view our Pro Shop merchandise. And, if you don't see what you need, call me at the Club and, if we can get it, I'll order it for you.

Tournaments & Events

Our annual Border Battle registered sporting clays tournament is scheduled for June 23rd. This event pits our Club against Game Unlimited, Minnesota shooters vs. Wisconsin shooters. Plan on joining us and help us defend our trophy from last year!

We are also hosting The SCTP youth State Tournament this year, on July 15th. If you can give us a hand, we could use some volunteers to help us make this event run smoothly for our fine youth shooters.

We held the 2012 Minnesota 5-Stand Championship and an SCTP tournament in April; for results, click here.

Artists Home Town Ceremony

I'm pleased to announce that SSPRGC will host Joe Hautmann's Federal Duck Stamp Ceremony on July 14th. More details to follow in our July news update.
