The South St. Paul Rod and Gun Club is pleased to provide a fun, educational and informative atmosphere for young shooters. All junior shooters, age 12-18, are required to have passed a Gun Safety program. Upon completion of this program you may come to the club and receive a complimentary Junior Membership for your first year. Shooters under age 12 may shoot only when accompanied by a Club Member.
We offer 16-week Trap and Skeet leagues for our junior shooters, starting the first week of May. We also have a Mixed League for those youth shooters who would like to pair up with an adult for added experience. Each year we have over 100 junior shooters who participate in our “special summer league” format. Please check our calendar for exact dates on these leagues.
In addition, the Club supports trap programs for high-school leagues; we are currently the home club for the following high school teams: Simley, Sibley, Hastings, Woodbury, East Ridge, St. Thomas Academy, and Cretin-Durham Hall.
We also sponsor teams for the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP).
