Shooting News

Crazy Quail is now available! We haven’t offered Crazy Quail for a number of years, and so far it’s a big hit. The game features a trap machine on a spinning pedestal; when the shooter calls "pull," the trap machine throws the clay anywhere within a full 360-degree circle. Shots can range from an easier incomer, to a fast crosser, to a challenging long outgoing target. Stop down and try your hand at Crazy Quail for a hunting tune-up!

The 5-Stand course is now down by the clubhouse for easier access during the winter months, closer to the warmth of the clubhouse.

League News

Don’t forget to sign up for winter leagues, which begin January 7th. Winter leagues are 10-week seasons. We offer team Trap, Skeet, Crazy Quail, Sporting Clays, and 2-person 5-Stand leagues, as well as individual Trap, Skeet, Crazy Quail, Sporting Clays, and 5-Stand leagues in the winter months.

This year we're trying a new format for winter leagues. The team captains have voted, and all leagues will be no-handicap leagues, where everyone shoots scratch. Divisions for these leagues will be decided after the 10 weeks are shot, and then everyone who has shot at least 80% of the league rounds (8/10) will be involved in shootoffs within their division. This format means that everyone is in the running until the end of the league season and divisions should more accurately pit shooters of similar ability against each other in the shootoffs. Rounds can be shot anytime during the season, both ahead and behind. Hope you like it!

We're also allocating a large share of sponsor fees toward door prizes which will be given away at the league banquet after the end of the season. Please note: in order to be eligible for door prizes, you must have shot all 10 rounds of winter league. For a complete copy of 2012 Winter League Rules, click here.

Because of this format, it's never too late to join winter leagues. As long as all your rounds are shot by the end of the season, which is March 11th, you or your team can join anytime during the season.
